Just wondering if anyone knows good deals. Right now I’m looking at about $.88/sq in (if my math is right). It’s $800 for a Sanyo 46″ LCD 1080p 60hz 2000:1 contrast.
Have you guys seen anything better (ie same specs or better and equal or lower price per square inch of screen)?
I don’t really mind LCD or Plasma but I’d like 1080p and at least 40″

Had a hard time deciding on which one to get and finally got the sony bravia but i am not satisfied.
Did i make the rigdecisionion? The screen seems a bit too blurry.

Signal; ALL digital cable via a PVR;
Problem:- picture quality with an HD signal is great! as are some of the non HD programs BUT; Some of the non HD programs, particularly the low-light ones and in the darker areas show a “smeared” effect during movement compared to the brighter areas of the picture. eg ; a full ****** shot of a person talking will display with a sharp-ish (lighter) face but with the darker hair smeared so that no hair strands are visible as the head moves around…..like a photo taken with a too slow shutter speed. On a soccer field, a close up of a player with the grass in the background is fine until the player moves and the camera follows him, then the grass is blurred (smeared) out into a mono-tone green. All these “smeared” effect areas will sharpen up as the image becomes stationary. It would appear that the darker areas are slower to regenerate than the lighter areas.
There are lots of forums out there addressing this LCDTV poor picture quality but I haven’t found an answer that deals with my concerns. – - Can any one shed any light on this one? Also would Plasma have the same problem?

LCD vs. Plasma is of no concern, what I want is the best possible picture for blu-ray, xbox360, and movies in general, I have a surround sound system so audio quality is also not too important. I’m looking for a TV that is compatible with the Logitech Harmony One remote which I’m pretty sure all of those are. I want the blackest blacks and the smoothest refresh rates which will be ideal for ******** gaming and action movies.

Which brands do people seems to love? Best picture, true colors, sound, I really want to know what people like out there. The bets of the best. What shouls I stay away from? Any specifics are appreciated.
i plan to buy a plasma for the smaller room i have. im looking for a 40-46 inch range. i plan to spend 1500-2000 hopefully get it on ebay a bit cheaper. any ideas of what i should look at or what a good brand is?

Which is better? or which would you choose to buy? I’ll be using it a lot for watching films and gaming so which is reliable?

Well, I have been looking for a Flat panel TV, but dont know if I should go LCD or Plasma. I am looking for a 37-42 inch tv. The problem is, I dont know which one I should get. With the prices coming down on Plasmas and LCDS becoming popular, I really dont know.
I hear a couple rumors about both. It seems as if the Plasmas can get that burning picture into its screen and on LCDs, they can get ghosting or the pixels can go bad, needeng to replace the whole screen. I am only looking for 720p cause I really am not getting HD cable.I had someone offer me a 46 inch 1080 LCD about a year old for 800.00, but its used though and dont know about buying used Flat panels cause of no warranty. There are alot of factors in buying these tvs, expense vs size…Durability vs clarity. Its weird cause it seems some LCDS have a better picture than plasmas, but yet other plasma have a higher contrast and are cheaper. So, which one do you think is better to get LCD or Plasma? Also, if you can add any more knowledge that would be cool.
I want to buy a good wide screen flat panel TV. Can’t decide between plasma, LCD or DLP projection. Angle of viewing is important to me. I **** TV’s that you can’t see the picture if you’re standing off to one side. Should I get 720 resolution, or hold out for 1080? Is an HDMI input important? If so, how many should there be? I want either a 46 or 50 inch model.
