Sony is releasing its own 3d tv later this year, it’s going to be 24 inches and HD (obviously). This tv is optimized for ps3, when playing any splitscreen game it gives you and your friend to SEPARATE screens instead of a split-screen, although when playing splitscreen it isn’t going to be 3-D

For any 3D TV you buy now you’ll need to wear 3D glasses to get the 3D effect. There’s not much difference in picture quality betwen the best 3D TVs so the glasses can make a difference to your choice. For gaming it might be worth looking at the LG Cinema 3D TV range. LG use passive glasses which are lightweight and very cheap to buy.

Most other sets use active glasses which are much heavier and very much more expensive.

It might pay to wait for the Playstation 3D TV which Sony have just announced. Press releases suggest it’ll be available in autumn this year.
