i would try to find a panasonic plasma tv, but if those are your only choices i would go with the LG plasma, 600HZ refresh rate, everything willl look smoother and they are much better than LCD in dark rooms but LCD is better in bright rooms, third, or second, if a tv looks bad in the stor, it usually isn’t, ask them for the remote, and then play around with the settings inside the store, you can make a cheap tv look really good wheen you mess with the video settings. and don’t listen to what they tell you, if you ask more then 1 employee selling the TV each one will say something different. plasma in my opinion is superior, don’t buy an LED tv though, not yet atleast, they have alot of kinks in them that aren’t worked out yet.

If the screen looks blurry, you want to make sure the TV is receiving a high definition signal. A common mistake people make is using composite cables – the red, white and yellow ones. Component or HDMI cables will get a high def signal to your TV.

Plasma and Led gives you the best quality blacks(contrast). NOthing wrong with your TV, From the price point and the size i assume you bought the 46v5100, which is not a bad tv at all, all you need to do is make sure you call up your service provider and get an HD Receiver(cable box, Satellite box) and also make sure you use HDMI cables, these will give you the best quality picture and sound. hope that answerd your question.
