Were looking at buying a new TV. Usually we buy LCD, its a brighter room, however my dad doesnt want 60hz anymore.We both like LCD because it seems brighter, and for HDTV the Plasma seems to jerk around in motion. but Plasma looks better in SDTV. the other problem its kinda dark, Costco has all the TV’s using Bell HD watching Fifa. i would prefer to ahve a blu-ray movie in or sometinghg for ful 1080p but.

anyways the reason i want to consider Plasma is cause its cheaper and then instead of a 46 we could go for a 50 for the same price.

there is a 120hz Samsung 46inch LCD or a 50inch Plasma Samsung for cheaper.

both 1080p, 3 and 4 HDMI respectively.

also my dad was wondering if Plasmas still consume more power than LCD, or are they pretty even now?

My dad bought LCD 46 inch and says that it’s not that great after few days.. So he wants to return it back to best buy, and wonders which would be the best one?
What’s your opinion?

If the LCD is the best choice, should we just get bigger size?

Ok I read your answers and I’m a sony rep specializing in gaming not tvs as you can tell. I also have heard about the burning on the plasmas but I’ve been told that has been fixed. 2nd I honestly wouldn’t mind getting a LED but I know that technology will get old and become cheaper. Besides I’ve also readd plasma is better for gaming. With all that being said please feel free to keep answering this is all helping me decide. Thank you.

My fiance wants to wall mount a 42-46 inch lcd or plasma in her new condo. It has metal studs behind the drywall. Best buy tells her a plasma is too heavy for metal studs, and she must use an LCD which weighs much less than plasma..no external wooden braces allowed in condo.

Tweeters tells her that LCD and Plasma weigh the same and no problem mounting a 42 or 46″ of either on the metal studs…who is right?? and can she do a 42 or 46″ plasma or lcd wall mount on the metal studs??
